Whilst having a chuckle at Sarah Palin's book on Amazon earlier, Glenn Beck's latest literary offering was brought to my attention:
It's titled, appropriately enough: "Arguing with Idiots" - and it certainly makes sense that one of America's foremost idiots would know a thing or two about being entirely obtuse in a discussion.
According to the book's blurb on the official website, it's a rather cynical extension of the Fox News pundit's practice of arming right-wing nutbags with pre-made 'arguments' that can be used to bring a dialogue about certain issues to an abrupt close:
The next time your Idiot Friends tell you how gun control prevents gun violence, you'll tell them all about England's handgun ban (see page 53). When they tell you that we should copy the UK's health-care system, you'll recount the horrifying facts you read on page 244. And the next time an idiot tells you that vegetable prices will skyrocket without illegal workers, you'll stop saying "no, they won't" and you'll start saying, "actually, eliminating all illegal labor will cause us to spend just $8 a year more on produce." (See page 139.)The subtitle for this book ought to be "Why think for yourself when you can be a mouthpiece for Glenn Beck?".
Bonus: here's a clip of Glenn Beck out of his element that illustrates the slick rhetorical style that you can claim as your very own!

The guy oozes slime every time he opens his mouth.
And it's hard to take a Mormon seriously about anything.
On a lighter note...Is this you?

He's only so popular because liberals hate him so much. Anyone that liberals denounce, the craziest people in America will champion.
Beck is a tool, but I don't think he's an idiot. I think he knows what he is and he knows what he is doing and he's willing to say shit like "Obama is a racist" just to boost his own ratings and grab headlines.
Jacob, you've hit on something I decided against putting into the post - the genuine hatred I have for Beck is part of the problem, and adding to the people blogging about him and mentioning his book gives him far more attention than he deserves.
I agree that (like other Fox pundits) he says much of what he says to get the ratings - the Daily Show riffs on their hypocrisy on a regular basis.
The book's website champions how much liberals detest beck with the sction: 'What are Glenn's Critics Saying?'
“[Glenn Beck is] a lying sack of dog mess.”
- Whoopi Goldberg
“Only in his wildest dreams could an actual suicide bomber hope to do as much damage to this country as Glenn Beck does every day.”
- Keith Olbermann
“Glenn Beck is a half-informed radio blowhard.”
- Vanity Fair
“Glenn Beck is an idiot.”
- Discover Magazine
Despite having the brains to capture the hearts of the backwards, I still say that he's a Grade A retard (if you don't draw the line at Mormonism, where do you?).
